About Billabong

Billabong was founded in 1973 by Gordon Merchant who created board shorts through his home on the Gold Coast. To make the products more durable Gordan created his own stitching technique which made the products more durable and cost efficient. Soon the business was moved into a factory and began to thrive and expand. Now, Billabong is aimed at the young generation and creates clothing for all boardsports.
