What if someone created a ski that could automatically adapt from a smooth, mellow cruiser to a powerful, explosive charger at the precise moment you wanted it to? Well Atomic did just that. Atomic was able to develop a ski that is both forgiving and high performance at the same time. The Doubledeck is a whole new way to build skis. The idea is to take 2 different levels of skis, a tip and tail that are separated from each other and held together by a stretchy elastomer. This design creates a tip and tail that spreads apart when flexed. This creates a much tighter turn the more the ski is flexed. Add a floating secondary topsheet that extends from under the foot towards the tip and tail you have a stable base that dampens vibrations and mellows out the high energy release of the flexing tip and tail. Combine the two and you have a ski that changes its skiing style and turn radius drastically just by the way you ski?
