The Type 40 features burst-free 2 stage catches built with stainless steel with hinge pins and includes push button safety catches whereas most other types of 2 stage soft opening catches are vulnerable to accidental opening, so this is a significant improvement. The handle has a handle stop at the vertical which means the case won't swing and graze your knuckles accidentally. The Type 40 also has an air pressure purge valve and built in stacking locators.
