The 1K blade combines an ABS outer construction with a wood core for a blade that blurs the distinction between (indoor) and (outdoor), but with a simpler hosel that brings the price into a range any budget can afford. The dilemma has always been: do I choose an indoor wood blade with fiberglass wrap for a light, stiff blade that shoots well, or do I choose an ABS blade that is tough, but is flexy and does not perform well. By virtue of the wood core, the 1K is as stiff as most wood/glass blades. It is very thin, giving it an excellent feel and making it a favorite of many players that pride themselves on their stickhandling. And this blade is tough. If you tend to shatter the bottom of all your blades, this blade will save you lots of money and give you surprising performance. It can be used as an outdoor blade, but be forewarned that the ABS along the bottom of the blade is only about 1/2 inch deep - which will limit its long term durability outside. This is the perfect blade for the player that plays indoors and wants to be able to play outdoors every now and then, or for the player that is just really rough on the bottom of their indoor blades.
