It's super lightweight because the shell is In-Molded Polycarbonate and has very warm insulation. This helmet is equipped with a MC2 Mechanical Fit and Comfort System which means that you can adjust the liner along with it's a low-profile design so that it is sure that you have the most comfortable and customized helmet possible. The RED Aletta Helmet is compatible with Audio/Subwoofer Ear Pad Accessories too! Whatever tunes you pump through your helmet will be of the highest audio quality. Rider Controlled Venting and a Vent Mesh lets that unwanted moisture leave the helmet and cool you down on the warmer spring days of skiing. Outfitted with a Removable Goggle Gasket you'll be able to fully remove the shield which can eliminate the gap between goggle and helmet while remaining windproof and breathable. This package also comes with the Carrera Kimerik S Junior Goggles. These goggles are helmet compatible which will give your child a secure and comfortable fit. They offer 100 percent UV protection from the sun's harmful UV rays. The Kimerik S goggles will stay fog free as well as they feature a special coating on the lens and a double lens with a space between to create a thermal barrier that eliminates fogging. No doubt this is a good deal on a well-made, good quality helmet. My almost 7 year old son thinks it fits well and is comfortable. It doesn't seem too big, i.e. as if he were wearing an adult-size (albeit xs) helmet. I didn't even notice where it said in the description that it was a women's xs helmet....until we received the package and I saw that it had a subtle design of a rose and other flowers on the fabric earpad, on the padding at the back of the helmet and on the helmet itself. However, the flowers are not very noticeable when the helmet is on and are partially covered by the google strap. I was surprised that my son said he didn't mind too much, so I guess we'll keep it! You can't beat the price!

We're pleased with this helmet, an XS women's helmet that skis.com marketed as a kids helmet; it fits our 4.5-year-old very well. However, the chin strap was long, and so I needed to cut out the strap's padding (and then reinforce the strap's stitching, which I wouldn't have had to do if I cut the padding more carefully).
