An outer shell of stretchy and comfortable Polartec Windbloc with a windproof laminate keeps you protected from the slightest gust to winds more powerful than you want to be outside in. To make sure the R4 doesn't have any weak points all the seams are welded and the zipper is backed with a wind flap to insure the whole jacket is solid and windproof. On the inside an R1 high-low grid adds the necessary warmth without providing too much bulk and helps to facilitate the wicking of perspiration making the R4 a very comfortable shell to be active in. Paying attention to the little things the R4 uses microfleece on the chin, cuffs and hem for added comfort and the waist hem has a cinch drawcord to keep all your heat in when necessary. This all add up to make the R4 a wonderful jacket and a solid performing layer for use under lighter weight waterproof shells for any wintersports.
