Comments about K2 Fit 80 Inline Skates 2012:

I'm very happy with this skate.
The bearings, fit, support, control, and weight are all amazing.

I only have one complaint: the toe wheels seem to be wearing pretty quickly. I've skated a lot in the past, although not so much the past few years. I know that a softer wheel gives better traction, but I don't remember any past wheels wearing down this quickly.

Don't get me wrong. This is not a reason to not buy this truly excellent skate. Just be aware and rotate your wheels occasionally.

Comments about K2 Fit 80 Inline Skates 2012:

I used to skate but haven't had a pair of blades for 10 years. These are so much more advanced, and far lighter, than my old skates. I skate mostly on an asphalt bike path, and they work good; I can get going pretty fast. I imagine that I will wear the wheels out soon as they are relatively soft and I am a big guy; I'll get a set of harder wheels when that happens.

Comments about K2 Fit 80 Inline Skates 2012:

Maybe my expectations were too high for a [$] pair of skates but these things are still junk. I recently started skating again to lose weight and I bought these to replace a 12-year-old pair of Bauer hockey rollerblades I had been using. My 12-year-old skates are falling apart but they are still vastly superior to these in every way.The ankle clasp, velcro strap, and even the laces on the K2's all feel chinzy. Sure enough, the buckles for one of the velcro straps broke off the second day I used them. I don't understand why all these skate companies bother to make the skates lace half way up, then still put the useless buckle clasps at the top. They provide poor support. In the one time I skated in them I was shocked at how poor the quality was. I was excited to have smooth, fast new skates but these were neither. There is a constant plasticky clatter from the wheels as they roll and especially as they hit the ground each time I push off. The frame (chassis) feels and sounds flimsy when I push hard to go fast or turn hard. I'm not trying to play hockey in these things, not even close. I am just using them for "fitness training" which is what they are supposedly for, and I'm not some kind of pro athlete either. Perhaps my expectations were unrealistic in this price range but I naively thought that in 12-14 years technology/quality would improve a little. The wheels that come with the K2's are also of an extremely low quality. I wore two of them down to destruction within the first 6 mile skate, and I don't wear the wheels particularly unevenly or fast on my old skates.I could go on but I think you get the idea. Fortunately I paid extra for a warranty that allows me to return them even when they are used, which I will of course be doing.

Comments about K2 Fit 80 Inline Skates 2012:

What I love about this skate is its ease to move. Many will think that the higher end fitness skate is what they need. That is beyond untrue. Fitness skates are great but that is what they are: fitness skates. Any skate is for fitness. Those are just faster. This particular skate is easy to turn, put on, take off, and has a nice roll out of the box. Not many skates are developed with solid wheels and bearings. You usually have to upgrade them. The only thing I would change is for K2 to use a double or triple buckle system instead of using laces. Laces cause the boot to expand when skating. That is the only flaw. I would suggest this skate any day! I skated from when I was 11-21 and now again at 31. I have worn anything from rec to hockey to true speed skates. This is a killer skate!

Comments about K2 Fit 80 Inline Skates 2012:

This is one of K2's best models yet. Their 2011 Moto 80 was a pretty good skate, but they made a few changes, just enough, to make the 2012 Fit 80 a par above. Over all the Fit 80 is a quality skate that gives you great control on turns, lasting comfort on long runs and made of quality materials. Can't go wrong on this one.
