Atomic Access Skis 2012 |
The Access design is far from simple! Atomic has incorporated an enormous amount of technology in a package that can handle the entire mountain. Starting with a 100mm waist and an open turn radius, the Access establishes a platform that screams all mountain versatility, but Atomic doesn't stop there. Atomic takes Power Rocker 10 and slaps it on top. A combination of rocker and early rise in the tip and tail, with camber underfoot, gives the Access a short effective edge in longer lengths. Translation, you can ride a wide ski designed for powder a longer length for increased flotation in powder with the bonus of having excellent edge hold on hard pack due to the camber construction of the skis. The use of a Step Down Sidewall L2 leaves the skier with a cap and sidewall hybrid ski. Two layers of vertical sidewall underfoot extend towards the tip and tail but become a more forgiving cap as the ski reaches the ends of it length. So whether you're looking to push the limits on a backcountry kicker or tear up any inbounds and side country terrain, the Access will open doors for it all.

Hi. I buy Atomic Access 181 cm. I got the wersion 10/11 The North Face Ski Challenge and ski look awesome :) In my opinion they have very similar construction to Armada TST (different radius only)
I wonder how to mount bindings: recommendations or team classic ?
Ski will be used in backcountry and powder mostly, sometimes ride on switch or play on ski slope not snow park. What you suggest ?

Hi, I'm Terry. Just got off the Atomic Access in a 181. Definitely a Big Mountain ski, fully rockered tip and tail. It likes soft snow, it was pretty good in the bumps, it was stable at high speeds on the hard pack. I give it a 4/5 stars.

Hi, this is Trey, with the Atomic Access. I am giving this ski five out of five stars. Some buddy told me it was a [$] price point. I was amazed by that because this ski, skies fantastic. Is extremely stable for only having a partial sidewall. Its rockered in the tips, It's really easy to get in and out of the turns. You can break the tail free to slide and get down some tight spots if necessary. It's got a really deep side cut, set back so you can turn really quick. Then just rip, big long medium radius turns all over the mountain. Five out of Five stars.

Hi, I'm Thom. I'm here with the Atomic Access. I gave it 4/5 stars, pretty cool ski 100mm underfoot. Good tip rocker to it, the thing goes onto edge really easily especially for how wide it is. Not the most stable ski at speed for this length for me, I'm a little bit bigger of a guy. For your intermediate, that is looking for that true off peste ski. It can go anywhere and give them ton of confidence in crud, trees, and powder. Looking for a great value for a ski this is certainly a good choice.

Hey, I'm Kevin. I just got off the Atomic Access. This is a really good powder all Mountain ski. 100mm at the waist, rocker tip and tail, camber underfoot. For the money you're going to find a ski that's hard to beat for money. It's got sidewall under the foot as well, so really good edge hold grip on groomed trails. It's going to slide out from you a little bit if you get cooking on it really hard. Will get a little chatterley but it's got good edge grip. Very versatile ski like I said, one of the better entry-level powder skis for the money on the market. This ski gets 4 out of 5 stars for me.

Hi, Jeff here with the Atomic Access. This ski is a boatload of fun, today we got a hold of it in a 181. As you can see it's got some pretty good rocker to it. This thing on the groomers, isn't going to be a groomers ski. This is made for backcountry, you know this is going to be really good at busting through some hard pack. If you got a little bit of soft stuff, good powder, ski shoots, Trees or whatever you want to do, this is a lot of fun. Cap construction still actually extremely stable at speeds. No chatter, like I said this is a really really fun nimble ski. I gave this 4 out 5 stars.

This is Hans, with the Atomic Access. The Access is a ski definitely more backcountry ski and powder ski. As you can see from the sidecut it's got a lot of rocker. Even though if you ski it on hard pack it will be a lot of fun. Definitely more designed for the softer snow, I consider this an out west ski. I give this a 3/5 stars. Probably a ski for your good intermediate to advanced skier.

Hey, it's Fidel. I just got off of Atomic Access in a 181. At 100 mm underfoot, a little bit wide, more of your all mountain big Mountain ski. Took well to the crud, felt a little bit unstable with that power rocker on the front side. Where it was hard packed or groomed felt a little bit chattery. Overall I did like it though gave it a 4/5 stars.

Hi, I'm Charlie, with the Atomic Access. This is a great ski, I'm going to give it 4/5 stars. This is good for your beginner to intermediate skier to get onto if you want a park ski. You can do just about anything you want with it. A little chaterey at bigger speed, but it's great for somebody who is just progressing into an all mountain kind of scene.
