Dynastar Legend 85 Skis with PX 12 Fluid Bindings 2012 |
The Legend 85 has proven itself as a pure all-mountain ski that works well for almost everyone. Using classic ski building methods combined with the best of modern ski shaping the Legend 85 manages to be responsive and crisp while still have just enough forgiveness to help you out of tight situations. Starting with sandwich laminate construction the wood/titanal core provides the framework for powerful edge grip, balance, and response. Around the core full sidewalls amplify the edge grip and deliver additional stability at speed while a torsion box around the core greatly increases the liveliness and rebound energy of the Legend 85. Then the whole ski receives 3D treatment which increases the core thickness over the shoulders and thins it out through the middle to reduce swing weight, increasing the nimble feel, without giving up any edge grip. To add to the versatility of the Legend 85 it got a dose of freeride rocker in the amount of 25% rocker to the tip of the ski. This allows the Legend 85 to float over powder, bust up crud, and more precise turn initiation but requires less effort to do so. The Legend 85 is a ski that can keep your legs fresh longer, ski any terrain you put in on, and make you look like a seasoned veteran while you do it.

Hi,Trey here with Dynastars Legend 85. I'm going to give this ski 3.5/5. Not because its not a good ski, it is. It's a classic, very predictable. I just think there are more skis out there now that have a little more energy and technology in them. But if you just want that classic stable easy to ski, mid-level ski front of the mountain mainly this is a fine ski.

Hey, I'm Thom and I'm here with the Dynastar Legend 85. I give this guy 4/5 stars. It's just a real easy, real predictable ski. 85 underfoot so its wide enough that its going to give you a little bit more all mountain versatility. A little bit of soft snow predictability and float as well but definitely geared more towards that kind of casual ski. That's going to take his skis off the trail maybe 30 percent of the time at most. If i can say one thing about this ski its just really really easy and smooth.

Hi, this is John. I'm here with the Dynastar Legend 85. I simply loved this ski, 85 underfoot. I felt comfortable the whole time out there. It does have rocker built in the tip and tail. It seems like Dynastar has dialed in the rocker nicely, they did not over do it. The rocker did help initiate the turn it did not over do it. Two stripes of metal in the ski, it held the edge very very well. I'm not necessarily in the market for a new ski. But if I was this would definitely be one that I would consider.

Comments about Dynastar Legend 85 Skis with PX 12 Fluid Bindings 2012:
Skied the Dynastar Legend 85 today. We had it in a 172 length. This is a really fun ski as you can see its the sandwich sidewall so you're going to have great edge hold. Great stability, there is nothing bad you can say about this ski. It does everything that your average intermediate to advanced rider is going to be able to throw at this ski. It handled fairly well today alittle loose on the hardpacked, groomers underneath. It's a really fun ski it's going to be a good ski to do some out West stuff with it. Like i said its a really good fun ski if you're an average intermediate rider. I give it a solid 4/5 stars.

This is Hans, with the Legend 85. If you don't know what to buy and your that medium to advanced skier this is the ski for you right here. If you question anything this is a full sidewall ski, 85 underfoot. It will do absolutely anything you want to do. It will carve nice on hard pack. It's good in a little bit of powder, but that ski I give it a solid 4/5. It's a great ski for your again medium to advanced skier.
