Dynastar Outland 80 Skis with NX 11 Fluid Bindings 2012 |
The Outland 80 is an all-mountain cruiser for athletic beginner to casual advanced skiers. At the most mellow of its 80 waisted Outland siblings it is the most forgiving and most geared towards skiers that are going to stay towards marked trails and low to medium speeds on the hill. Having an 80 waist does give the Outland 80 a nice blend of stability and edge quickness for a predictable easy to control while the 3D construction gives the ski firm edge grip and a nimble feel. As the 3D construction is thicker over the shoulders of the ski and milled down in the middle you power gets driven straight to the edge of the ski. The Outland 80 also gets all-mountain rocker flaring the tip and tail up ahead of the traditional contact points which makes turn initiation much easier and helps the tips rise over crud and bumps that tend to form towards the end of the day. For the finishing touch the Outland 80 uses Autodrive Fluid X binding integration helping to stiffen the torsional flex of the ski for stronger performance and precision as well as provide damping and a bit of additional rebound. The Outland 80 is a very predictable and solid ski that will inspire confidence in any progressing skier and help them continue to new levels of ability and fun.

Trey, with the Dynastar Outland 80 XT. I'm going to give this 4/5 stars. I think it's a real solid intermediate ski for dad. Somebody who's skiing maybe 15 to 20 days a year. Maybe out West once, predominantly in the Midwest or on the East Coast. It's stable at 80 under foot you can get through the crud. Definitely responsive enough to were you can have some fun on it if you want but it doesn't demand anything out of you.

Thom here, with the Dynastar Outland 80 XT. Really cool ski from Dynastar this year, full sidewall construction, little bit of rocker up in the shovel. I give this thing five out of five. For [$] ski this thing can absolutely rip a turn. Real confident on edge, short and long radius are both really easy with this. I would definitely recommend this to someone who's a higher level intermediate skier. Or a real athletic beginner who's looking to get one ski that has a little bit more all mountain versatility that they can have for a while and really be happy with.

Hi, this is Luke. I just finished skiing the Dynastar Outland 80 XT. I give this ski 3/5 stars. I would have given it the 3 because I think, I skied it in a little bit longer length then what is actually appropriate for me. Nice stable platform 80mm underfoot you can really take this ski anywhere. Pretty lightweight, got a nice vertical sidewall underneath the binding so it's got a lot of energy. The longer length, it actually required me to muscle more to turn it. If had I gotten it'll shorter length I probably would've enjoyed it much more. Check it Outland 80 XT.

Hi, I am EJ. I'm here with the Dynastar Outland XT in a 176 length. Stable under foot that's the buy word for this ski. Not so quick acting and responsive for responsive mogul skiing. But I think anyone who looks for cruising under crud conditions and blasting through it, will have a great time. Stability underfoot again are the buy words for the ski. This black beauty is for you, if you're looking for speed with confidence on edge.
