Elan Waveflex 78 TI Skis with ELX 12.0 Fusion Bindings 2012 |
While the Waveflex 78 TI might look like it's little brother, the standard Waveflex 78, and it even shares it's shape with it's little brother, but like most big brothers, it is stronger and meaner. The additional strength comes from two major changes, making the 78 TI version suited to aggressive intermediate up through aggressive advanced skiers who prefer front side and hard packed terrain. A Mono-TI layer is the first upgrade the 78 TI sees (hence the TI tag). By adding a tip to tail layer of titanium the 78 TI becomes significantly more stiff in every direction, upping the responsiveness but also taking away some forgiveness. Second is a re-worked flex pattern through the Waveflex Technology to boost torsional and tip to tail stiffness as well, increasing the quickness and and precision of turn initiation. The Waveflex 78 TI keeps the RST sidewall and Power Woodcore for a lightweight and poppy nature, complimenting the more power driven flex. In the end the Waveflex 78 TI is a smooth, powerful, slightly forgiving frontside carver that wants to be skied quickly and with style.

Hi, this is Luke. I just finished skiing the Elan Waveflex 78 Ti. I give this ski 4/5 stars. I found this to be a very enjoyable skin on the front side. Carves really well, It's very forgiving had no trouble hooking up and making some turns. But still with the Ti you can load it up and have a lot of fun with it. I think you're going to find that it is geared towards that upper Intermediate to advanced level skier that is looking for a front side carver that their not going to have to work to hard to ski. Just something they can have a lot of fun on, so check it out. The Elan Waveflex 78 Ti.

Hi, I'm Kevin. I just got off the Elan Waveflex 78 Ti. I thought this was a very good Intermediate to advanced level ski. Very quiet and very stable, didn't have a ton of pop, but was very smooth and very easy to get on edge. Great edge grip it's a good ski if you spend most of your time on hardpacked and then you get a little bit of soft cruddy snow. I think it would be a very good ski for you. Overall it get 4/5 stars from me.

Hi, this is John. I'm with the Elan Waveflex 78 Ti. This particular ski has the titanium throughout, stiffens the ski up a little bit. I was doing mostly short radius turns out there. I found that this ski held extremely well in these snow conditions that we have, groomed trails. Didn't take it to any rates of speeds pretty slow, first of the day but all in all I felt super comfortable on this ski at all times. Really impressed with the Elan this year, they changed the graphics a little bit. The ski core construction is about the same as last year but all in all I give it a 4 stars. I really enjoyed it.

Jeff here with the Elan Waveflex 78 TI. This is the ultimate ski for the guy who likes to turn, you know the guy who is not going to go down and go as fast as humanly possible making 6 to 7 turns at the bottom of the hill. Someone who actually enjoys their skiing, someone who is going to want to turn and have fun. They go out with her family, things like that. Still with the sandwich construction this is going to have good stability, great side hold, this is a little bit softer ski so you are not going to want to charge really hard on it. It's got great hold, like I said really really easy extremely nimble ski. I give this a solid 3/5 stars.

This is Hans. With the Elan Waveflex 78 TI. The Waveflex been around for a couple years, the nice thing with this ski, full sidewall. It's definitely a ski designed for more short to medium radius turns. If you're looking for something that's real quick and nimble. That's the ski to go Mid-West ski East coast ski out West you might want to consider something a little bit wider, a little bit longer. Got to give this a 3/5.

Hey everyone, it's Fidel. I just got off of Elan's Waveflex 78 TI. Really liked the ski, give it a solid 4/5 stars. RST sidewalls really good energy transfer, really holds It's edge, couple that with the waveflex technology gives it a nice even flex. Transfers a lot of energy right to the edge, I'd recommend it for anybody intermediate to advanced who loves to take it anywhere you want to go from the front side carvers all the way to a little bit of crud. Wouldn't recommend it for deep deep powder but overall great one ski to have.

Hi, I'm EJ. I'm with Elan Waveflex 78 TI ski. I demoed it a 168 length ski, a little shorter than most guys my size might take it out, but this ski holds with stability on edge. It will bash through crud very nicely, very smooth and holds a solid edge on a steeper down hill. On hardpack conditions this would be a good ski if someone wants to ski light powder and pretty much go anywhere on the mountain. It's going to be a very versatile, one ski quiver ski. With four solid stars, take care now have a great ski day.

Hi, I'm Doug. I just got off the Elan Waveflex 78 Ti. Really fun ski, transitions really well turn to turn both in the short turns as well as the long radius turns. Held a really great edge up there, found a little bit of ice it held really nice there. It also went through a little bit of cruddy powder nicely as well. Overall I'd rate it about a 4.5/5. You know a good fun ski for just about everybody that skis around the mid west and out into the bigger mountains out west.
