Salomon X-Wing 8 Skis with Z10 Lightrak Bindings 2011 |
Designed for Intermediate to Advanced level skiers the Salomon X-Wing 8 has the technology to let you push the boundaries, or to take it easy cruise with out being punished. The X-Wing 8 features a Composite Core making it easy to initiate turns and maneuver in a variety of conditions. Salmon beefs up the X-Wing 8, reinforcing it with a Single Ti Laminate to improve edge grip, energy transfer, and liveliness so that you can make carved turns with ease. The great edge grip is further exaggerated by the Monocoque Construction which provides the additional edge grip necessary to take your turning to the next level. When stepping up to the X-Wing 8, Salomon includes the Z10 binding which offers a higher level of Lateral Transmission for better power transmission and a more secure hold on the boot. Salomon has added some high end features to this versatile ski to help take your skills to the next level. When ripping up the slopes you want a smooth, solid feeling ski under your feet so Salomon included their 3D Stealth Tip which lowers the tip profile to allow the ski to rollover terrain variations and keep the front of the ski calm and smooth. And to protect your knees the X-Wing 8 boasts Salomon's Oversized Pulse Pad technology, an Elastomer Layer for shock absorption. So wither you're exploring new terrain, or accidently found some cruddy snow, the X-Wing 8 will have all of the technology necessary to keep your skis tracking and you smiling.

Comments about Salomon X-Wing 8 Skis with Z10 Lightrak Bindings 2011:
I just joined ski patrol and wanted to upgrade to a better ski. Of all the skis I've been on this one is my favorite and I am glad I made the purchase. I can really tell the difference and I would definitely recommend them.

Comments about Salomon X-Wing 8 Skis with Z10 Lightrak Bindings 2011:
6'1.5" 190 lbs male purchased 176cm
1/7/12 on Mount Sunapee Ski, NH the conditions weren't great and almost all the snow wasn't natural.
First ski purchase but was very surprised how well they performed. Used to shorter skis but the longer length was perfect with the camber/rocker. No chatter or surprises - I was able to ski and stop quickly with no falls on less than ideal terrain. I am very happy with these skis!
Performed much better than the Volkl Tigersharks I demoed last season.

Can't really rate them other than average, need some snow. Looking for a ski that will be responsive in short turn situations. Been using 195's for a long time, this will be the first shorter ski for me.

This is a great first ski for an intermediate skier. It does very well on groomed trails however lacks some stability in choppier terrain.
