If you want to talk hardcore park skis the discussion cannot end without mentioning the Line Stepup. This year the Stepup returns but only in name, the Line engineers busted out a brand new shape and construction vaulting the Stepup into the elite category of park rides. The all new Deckwall construction takes two maple veneer layers from Line's renowned Skatedeck construction and sandwiches them around the proven maple Macroblock core with full sidewalls. Sound complicated? It is. However the proof of the effort is in the ride. This construction makes the Stepup one of the firmest symmetrical skis available with insane pop and durability that can still press out butters all day. For all the jib happy riders Line sticks with the Fatty Base and Edge to keep the Stepup going all season long with a slight tweak. Thats right, Line put a RACE quality base on the Stepup. Now this does mean you will have to wax from time to time but it's a fair trade for knowing you will always be able to gather enough speed for those 80 footers. The Stepup is pure park all the time and was built with one thing in mind, absolute dominance of the biggest park features on earth.

Hey this is Evan here with the Line Stepup. I give this ski a 5/5. It's for that full on park rider that wants something a little bit stiffer than the afterbang. They actually throw a sidewall on this ski this year too so it holds an edge really well. Definitely for that rider whose hitting a lot of rails and jumps.

I'm Kyle here with the Line Stepup. This ski is actually a pretty cool ski. It's new this year. It's got sidewall and a capped construction on the tip and tails so it's a real good ski for all mountain but if you're hitting the park but you're still going all mountain this would be the ski for you. I would give it about a 4/5.

Hey this is Micah. I'm on the Line Stepup. It's basically a step up from the Afterbang. It's a little bit stiffer and it has the full side cut on it. The ski can actually carve backwards! I give it a good 4/5 for anybody that's a little more experienced Park rider.

Hey this is Thom. I'm here with the Line Stepup. Pretty cool upgrades to this ski, this year they added a side wall construction into their skate deck. It remains a center mounted symmetrical ski and they threw butter zones in there too so it's a little bit softer in the tip and tail then last years. Super playful, really a true park ski here, even if you're doing a little bit more technical urban jibs. It's soft enough that it butters real well but it's stable enough and a little more stable than that Afterbang to the point where it's going to provide you a little bit more comfort on bigger jumps and harder landings.

Comments about Line Stepup Skis 2012:
The Line Stepup is a great ski for the park. If you like a little stiffer ski that you can go big with then this ski is for you. It is built like a skate deck with double ollie bands for stiffness unlike the afterbang which is built with one band. So when you are going off big jumps you wont wash out on the take offs or landings. It is also really durible and can take well over a season of hard riding and beating the skis up on rails. I got to ride these last season and loved how they were a fully symmetrical ski that rides just as good backwards as it does forward. If you want to ride something new or a ski that can be used and abused then look no further then the Line Stepup.
