Scott Punisher Skis 2012 |
We once had a tester describe the Punisher as feeling like home and after a little thought everyone seemed to agree. These days tons of skis have a comfortable and confident feel but few have that feeling from the very first turn like the Punisher. This vibe that you are exactly where you should be may be intangible but the Punisher does have measurable features that explain why it feels like this. To start with traditional SSCL construction, a wood core with fiberglass laminates and full sidewalls, offers up a strong and stable feel with huge amounts of energy and liveliness. For all mountain riding it equates to great edge to edge response and in the park it means huge ollie power and smooth pop off jumps. Combined with a high 80mm waist profile the Punisher is very stable whether you are touching down on a 80 foot kicker or charging through choppy snow or bumps. Finished off with a Dual Radius sidecut to allow for easy variation of turn shape and a twin tip and tail profile for more balanced switch skiing and landing. So whether you are ripping park laps, charging groomers, or bombing through the trees the Punisher is a comfortable and confident ride.

I don't usually write reviews, but after reading " Ski Lover's " review I had to comment.
Yes, Scott makes an incredible ski, definetly one of the most under rated companies by far. The 4 reviews in a row are from skis.com reviewers, not Scott's marketing team. Scott's US base is in Utah, not michigan.
I'm on my second pair of punishers, they are the best all around twin tip i've ever tried. They can do it all, very well. For super deep days, you obviously want a bigger ski, but for anything else, all you need is the punisher.

Scott makes a quality ski and I think they are one of the most under rated brands in the States.
Just needed to comment on the previous 4 reviews, all of which are from Scott employees and all posted on the same day.
What a joke. Leave your marketing sales away from these unbiased reviews. You really turn me off from your brand of skis, which is too bad because Scott make great skis.

Hi this is Trey with Scotts new Punisher. I give this ski 4.5/5 stars. A couple years back I owned this ski, it lasted and they just made it better! They stiffened it up so you get a lot more edge hold. You can ski it all over the mountain. More geared towards I would say steeper tighter conditions. Maybe take it into the park a little bit, there really is no rocker in it. There is definitely some energy in it but It's a very stable and predictable ski so I enjoyed it.

Hi this is Thom. I'm here with the Punisher from Scott. Absolutely fantastic ski! full side wall, little bit of early rise in the tip. Just a really, really predictable easy going all Mountain ski with great edge hold. You don't have to work it too hard, it turns when you want it to without having to force it onto edge. I would really put anybody from the advanced intermediate looking to step up their level of skiing and wants something predictable but calm and powerful. A little bit wider so it can kind of be that 50-50 ski all the way through that good advance ski. Not necessarily who's skiing quite as hard or looking for the ultra powerful ski.

Hey this is Micah, I was riding the Scott Punisher. This is a gonna be your all mountain more twin tip that can be a little bit rocker in the tip. Has an earlier contact point, it's pretty soft and I don't know, pretty fun for hitting jumps, doing butters because it's softer underfoot. I have to give it 4/5 for overall ride.

Hi I'm Kyle here, I just got off the Scott Punishers. I really enjoyed these skis. This ski would be a great ski for like a go to ski where you hit some park, hit all mountain and do a little bit of snow. As long as they're on snow the ski can be ridden anywhere on the mountain. Fun ski, great edge hold, buttery at times when you want to be but can still hold an edge. I would give the Ski a 4/5.

The Punisher was a fun ski to ride. It held an edge on groomers really nice and had a nice smooth flex on the carves. They were also great on rails and jumps. Having a tight turn radius you could throw them sideways super easy and fast to scrub speed before getting on a rail. With its semi wide waist you could even ride them with ease on a lite snow day. Great ski for the price.
