The woven nylon straps provide a platform to plant on and push off of. The straps are engineered with increased strap width in the back of the hand for additional support. The ice tip really comes in handy in extreme conditions. It offers unbeatable hold in those crazy icy conditions. The basket on this pole is a race basket. It is designed to minimize drag and wind resistance when racing. For your small racer, this ski pole is designed exactly for him or her as a result of the junior notch. This grip is Scott's notch strike grip for smaller hands. The series 3, S3 aluminum makeup of the pole creates an oval shape that features shaft construction from S4 aluminum and the R-2 Grip System. The oval shape of the pole increases aerodynamic performance and structural rigidity while maintaining exceptional shock-absorption properties.
