Women who are ready to rip all across the mountain in comfort and performance are going to love this boot from Tecnica. For the advanced to expert skier the Tecnica Attiva P90 Phoenix Ultrafit is the ultimate in comfort and performance. With its slightly wider fit, this boot's comfort is only matched by its ability to rip the whole mountain. Primaloft Insulation offers lots of warmth and is also fast drying with great breathability. It consists of very fine soft multi-diameter fibers that are compressible like goose feathers, do not absorb water and will keep the foot warm even when damp. This is all achieved thanks to its capacity to retain body heat despite its ultra-light weight. The Primaloft technology has been extended to the whole toe box area which is particularly cold-sensitive. Get the Attiva P90 Ski Boots from Tecnica and feel what a great fitting performance boot is supposed to fit like.

Comments:
These boots have just the right amount of flex, and are so comfortable I don't even notice them. And they are almost $400 less expensive than the other, painful, boots I bought and returned after 3 runs (I won't mention the brand but it wasn't tecnica) I ski about 50 - 60 daysyear, mostly woods and bumps, not a speed demon.

Comments:
Stick with Tecnica boots if you want a quality boot that fits, preforms, is confortable and won't let you down. I switched to Tecnica boots after having problems with other manufaturers. This is my 4th Tecnica boot and they have all exceeded my expectations.

I've worn these boots several times, and the fit is now perfect. The aggressive skier in me can charge the mountain confidently. The flex stiffens when you push them to the limit, which I love. They are for a driver, not a passenger. If you're a strong blue, black and double black, these boots will not disappoint.

            • Q:

I just bought these boots from you and I'm beginning to worry about two things. One, I'm a good moderate skier, I do some small jumps and rails, aggresive on blues and do a few blacks. I can do blacks, but prefer to stay on blues. Is this boot too aggessive for me? I go on about 1-2 ski weekends a year and have for the last 30 years. Two, on my right foot, the boot feels compressive on the width in the bunnion or ball area of the foot. It isn't painful, but I feel quite a bit of compression/pressure. Will this break in? I don't have particularly wide feet. Thanks!

                A:

The Tecnica Attiva Phoenix 90 UltraFit boots are designed for the lady who can tackle everything the mountain throws at her, and will be perfect in all scenarios whether you are just cruising groomers or tearing up the park. If the boots feel too stiff for you you may need to go down to a slightly softer, more forgiving model, but it would really be a matter of personal preference. As for the fit, the Phoenix is going to be on the narrower end of the medium width range, so if you have a wider forefoot you may want to look at a boot that is wider, as these will only break in so far over time.

            • Q:

I'm new to skiing after 20 some years of not skiing. I consider myself a novice. I have a wider foot and I need a boot for a thicker calf. I've rented boots 4 times this year and each time adjusting to fit the calf is stressful & I'd like my own boots. I typically wear a ladies size 9 or 40. It sounds like this boot works for a low thicker calf but would it be appropriate for a novice?

                A:

The Tecnica Attiva Phoenix 90 is actually a medium width boot that is designed for the more advanced skier, and would not work for your needs. I would recommend instead a boot like the Dalbello Aspire 65 or the Salomon Quest Access 60, both of which will have a more moderate flex for both comfort and novice to intermediate level skill, while being a wider forefoot and larger calf accommodating model.

At a size 11.5, you would need a 28.5 mondo point boot, which most womens boots (including the Tecnica Attiva UltraFit) do not come in. She would more than likely be looking at either a custom model or a mens boot instead.

This boot has a removable spoiler to help with larger calves as well as macro-adjustment and micro-adjustment in the catches and buckles on the upper of the boot. This boot is know for fitting larger calves quite well but keep in mind that each situation is unique.
